A Study on the development of information in Long-Term Care Insurance in Korea: Focusing on the accessibility of information in the third pilot project

Abstract
Information is the major tool to access service. As the number of service providers in Long-term care insurance is increased, the importance of information will be emphasized. The aim of this research is to understand how information was provided and how care manager supported for older people to use information, and then to find some suggestions for it. To do this, literature review was carried out.
Researcher visited Suwon area, and collected the information which was provided for service users. Then, pilot interviews with care managers were done. According to the research results, the importance of information and support for the elderly are not significantly considered. So, probably older people have a difficulty in accessing the service. The contents and formats of information are not enough to meet the various needs of older people. By using internet, whilst there might be positive aspects of information, digital divide would be worsened. To overcome these limitations, this research shows some policy suggestions as follows: the diversification of contents and format of information, the strengthened roles of
care manager in terms of supporting for the use of information, and the extra support for the elderly who live alone.
